A History of the Pioneer Days Festival
Florence is a true Wild West town, one that has survived generations of "boom and bust" discoveries. What is left is a vibrant art, agriculture, and ranching community that is proud to come together once a year to celebrate their past.

This year's poster was created by artist Rudl Mergelman. The theme was "Our Pioneer Stories".

The 2017 poster contest winner is local artist Rudl Mergelman. Rudl, a descendant of pioneer families, was raised in Western Colorado. His work exemplifies western heritage and ranch life. More of Rudl's work can be seen at Blue Heron Gallery in Florence, Colorado where he has a studio and his works on on display.
